Eurolinguistischer Arbeitskreis Mannheim e.V., ELAMA

We address ourselves to all Europe-oriented scholars of the world for support, and we call upon those who are interested in the contact and interaction of European languages to join our Eurolinguistic Association. Please write to us and request membership.

ELAMA especially invites the world’s young people to participate in creating a modern, global approach to the science of language with a human face. We need a Europe-wide, global acclamation for our action programme. Everyone who has observed the stagnation of mainstream linguistics and national philologies during the 1990s and hoped for modernisation, Europeanisation and even globalisation of European language studies is welcome to apply for membership in ELAMA and to contribute to things European.

By including English world-wide, French world-wide, Spanish world-wide, Russian world-wide and other global languages, we also encourage contact linguists of non-European languages who are involved with the interaction between European and non-European languages on all continents of the globe (cf. Theses 15, 16 and 17 of the Pushkin Manifesto) to seek membership.

Visit our Association site to find individual pages on our members, goals, background and Eurolinguistic activities as well as our contact address.
